Newsroom

Our Leadership Team continues to monitor the impact from Coronavirus (COVID-19) and Simon will implement precautionary measures as necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of our employees and partners.

To Our Partners:

We are fully operational and our team is continuing work on projects as well as operating all our asphalt, concrete and aggregate facilities. At this time, we want to make you fully-aware that we have taken proactive measures to enable our staff to work safely and remotely while remaining productive. We have technology in place that allows us to minimize staff contact with the public while keeping work moving and our facilities accessible to all our business partners.

To Our Staff:

The health and well-being of our employees is our top priority.  To help ensure the safety and health of our employees and their family members, we have to recognize how the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) spreads and ways we can limit the impact:

Risk Activity

Action

Exposure due to large crowds

Business travel outside of our normal work area is canceled, kickoff meetings and in-person trainings with attendees outside of Simon are canceled; keep meetings to 10 or fewer, ensuring enough space for everyone to maintain at least six feet of distance from others

In-person exposure

Maintain at least six feet of distance from others; wash hands often; do not shake hands; if organizing meetings, consider utilizing Teams if possible

Germs on infected surfaces

Keep work areas disinfected and clean by using antibacterial wipes more often than usual; use hand sanitizer if available

If you are feeling ill or you need to take care of a loved one, we encourage you to take the time necessary.    If you experience not only the symptoms of the Coronavirus but other illnesses, please stay home to keep from infecting others.

There are a number of great resources on how to keep yourself and your family safe.  We encourage you to review information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html, which covers the following:

  • Older People & People with Chronic Diseases at Higher Risk
  • Steps to prevent illness
  • What to do when sick
  • Symptoms
  • Common questions

Our responsibility to you is to mitigate your exposure, particularly if you fall into one of the categories the CDC deems as high risk such as:

  • Older adults
  • Individuals with serious chronic medical conditions including but not limited to:
      • Heart disease
      • Diabetes
      • Lung disease

If you are in a high-risk category, please let a member of the Simon Leadership Team know so we can ensure you are not put into a situation in which you are uncomfortable.

Our Leadership Team will continue to evaluate the situation in the coming weeks and may provide additional measures as necessary.

We need to take this seriously, and know that we are here to support you. Thank you in advance for changing habits and implementing these practices to keep everyone, including our families, healthy and safe.
